シャーリ・アルドリギは「生と死の夢」シリーズを発表できることを光栄に思っている。このシーズでは紙と黒の細ペンによって、存在と虚無を取り囲む薄い層を探求している。私たちの感情は、自身の内部奥深くにある、この空間に宿っている。時にそれらは吐き出されたいと叫ぶが、私たちはそれを押し込めてしまう。 死との突然の接近遭遇、そしてその痛みから隠れるために費やした長い時間の後、作家は死を避けることをやめ、向き合うことを決意する。彼女はむき出しの圧倒的な感情のすべてを直接受け入れ、紙の上に吐き出すことを選んだ。

自然、花、誕生と死をテーマに、シャーリは人々の魂と静かにつながることを目指している。悲しみや痛みの感情は避けられないものだが、それを受け入れることで、幸福や喜び、愛、成長を与えられたときに、より一層喜ぶことができる。シャーリの "生と死の夢 "は、人間的な親密さへの憧れと、孤独と自己反省の両方の感情を映し出している。

この作品群は現在進行形のプロジェクトであり、人生の歩みとともに成長し、変化していく。このシリーズで繰り返し描かれる主人公の花々のように、絵画は種として生まれ、花を咲かせ、成長し、変化し、枯れていく。会期中、作家はLaunchPadギャラリーに滞在し、追加作品を制作する予定。

In her exhibition at Launch Pad Gallery, Charli Aldrighi is honored to present her series “A Dream of Life and Death”. The medium chosen for this series is black fineliner on paper. The collection explores the thin layer between existence and the void before and after. Emotions inhabit this space, deep within our inner self. Sometimes they scream to be let out, yet we push them down. After a sudden, close encounter with Death, and a long time spent trying to hide from the pain, the artist decides to stop avoiding it, and instead starting to face it. By doing so, she chooses to directly embrace all of the raw, overwhelming emotions and lets them out on paper.

Using themes of nature, flowers, birth and death, Charli aims to silently connect with other people’s souls. Every person experiences life in different planes of space and time but encounters the same emotions: feelings of sadness and pain are unavoidable, yet embracing them make us rejoice even more when we are gifted happiness, joy, love, growth. Charli’s “Dream of Life and Death” mirrors both her feelings of longing for human intimacy and those of loneliness and self reflection.

This collection is an ongoing project, growing and changing as life goes on. Just like flowers, the recurring protagonist element in this series, the paintings are born as a seed, bloom, grow, change, die, and the cycle goes on. During the exhibition period, the artist will be present at LaunchPad gallery and will be creating additional pieces.
