break time in Mar(sea) city.
海の町で一休み。
横浜での展示なので海でゆっくり作品を見てほしいと思って
"a cup of coffee"にちなんで"ah cup of mar"のタイトルにしました。
作品はシマウマのキャラクターがダラけられる、lazyになれる、心やすらぐ、自分の時間、孤独を象徴するアイテムと一緒に
いる所を描いてます。
mar→スペイン語で海にした理由も「海」というものが偉大で暗くて深くて怖いけど安らぐと言う意味もちなんで
コーヒーではなく一杯の海を感じて作品を見て頂ければ！という想いで描きました。
Since my exhibit is held in Yokohama, I hope people enjoy my work feelinglike they’rehaving a cup of coffee with that relaxing feeling you get from the ocean. Thinking that way I decided to title the exhibition “ah cup of mar”.
My work depicts the zebra with items that symbolize personal time, slacking off, being lazy, having a peaceful mind and solitude.
Mar means ocean in Spanish. I think the ocean represents greatness, darkness and deepness. It’s a bit frightening but comforting.
Instead of a cup of coffee, I hope you feel a cup of the ocean from my work.
