この度、鎌田昇の個展「Atmosphere」を、2026年10月2日(金)～11日(日) 13:00～19:00 (金土日のみ)に、横浜・石川町のLAUNCH PAD GALLERYにて開催いたします。ご高覧いただければ幸いです。

「私は制作する上で、孤独感、自分の病気、マイノリティの悲哀などをテーマにしてきた。しかし冷静になってみると、友達は多くないにせよまあまあいるし、福祉関係の仕事もさせていただいている。正直、華やかではないにせよ、ほどほどに人生を楽しんでいるというのが現状だ。

　そんな中で改めて制作について考えると、意地のようなものが本質なのだと思う。目立った評価をされているわけでもないが、ここからが勝負だという心持ちでいる。ローリング・ストーンズのように、80代になっても素晴らしい作品を作り続ける姿に憧れている。

　不幸な身の上で作品を作り続けるという神話的な作家像とは異なり、私はある程度幸せに制作を続けている。そうしてできた作品を、今回まとめて見ていただきたい。少しでも楽しんでいただけたら幸いです。」

“In my creative work, I’ve often explored themes such as loneliness, my own illness, and the sorrows of being part of a minority. But when I take a step back and look at things objectively, I realize that while I may not have many friends, I do have a decent number, and I’m fortunate to be working in the social welfare field. Honestly, even if my life isn’t exactly glamorous, the reality is that I’m enjoying it to a reasonable extent.

Reflecting on my creative process in this context, I’ve come to believe that a certain stubborn determination is at its core. I haven’t received any notable acclaim, but I approach my work with the mindset that the real challenge begins now. I admire artists like the Rolling Stones, who continue to create wonderful works even into their 80s.

Unlike the mythical image of an artist who creates despite an unfortunate life, I’ve been able to continue my work while enjoying a certain degree of happiness. I’d like you to take this opportunity to view the body of work that has emerged from this journey. I hope you’ll find at least a little enjoyment in it.”
