チバサヤカと前田梨那は、育った環境や年代、写真へのアプローチは異なるものの、共にインスタントカメラを用いた制作を続けている。
インスタントカメラの魅力は、予測できない写りや思い通りにならないところにあり、時には予想外の発見や驚きをもたらす。
「どうなるかはわからないけれど、撮ってみよう」その気軽さが、一眼レフでは感じられないワクワク感を与えてくれ、撮ることそのものの楽しさを再確認させてくれのだ。
この写真展では、異なる年代から生まれた二つの視点が交錯する。それぞれの時代や環境、心情を背景に、インスタントフィルムというメディアを通して、どのような「コンタクト」を取るのかを探る。

風景を描く。
かつて見た、北岳から間ノ岳に向かう途中のピンクに染まる朝焼け。
稲村ヶ崎から見た相模湾を赤く染める夕焼け。
忘れられないほど美しい風景に出会った時、できることならその光景を永遠に所有してみたいと思うことがある。
いつか見た記憶の中の景色の断片が合成されて、どこにも存在しない新たな風景として画面に立ち現れる。
現実には存在しない理想化された光景。
風、空気、湿度。
誰の心にも共感し得る郷愁が絵画に定着できたらと思う。

Cycles is a long-term conceptual project consisting of a series of works grouped by stories. These stories can be read together or separately, and their connections can be explored. All the papers used in this project are handmade by recycling old papers that were originally used for various purposes, resulting in a range of colors and thicknesses. Any graphics or other interventions on the papers are carried out in-house using non-toxic printing inks and reused materials.
These recycled papers serve not only as a visual medium for conveying the idea but also as an integral part of the process itself. They shape and solidify the theme of Cycles. Through the prints, the stories showcase new types of existences and states in an illustrative manner. In the papers, we find the cyclical nature of things—rebirth from a state of being used and deemed unnecessary—taking on a new form, purpose, life, and awakening of matter. This approach simultaneously promotes sustainable artistic practice and a way of living.
The papers are privately meticulously annotated and numbered based on their origins, which can include fiscal receipts, passenger tickets, math homework, love letters, old drawings, quick sketches, failed graphics, and more. This way, the present on the surface reflects the layers of the past.

Having discovered each other through their love for fabric, threads and patterns, this is the 4th time Caroline and Barbara have exhibited together since 2021. With their backgrounds in fashion design and architecture, they collect the beauty in everyday life and their surroundings, choosing different mediums to express their ideas. In this exhibition they are displaying works that have been created over the past 2 years, including works exhibited in the Tokyo Biennale 2023.
Colours of Friendship
For over half a century, the Association of Foreign Wives of Japanese (AFWJ) has provided friendship and support for non-Japanese nationals who are or have previously been in a committed relationship with a Japanese person. The association takes pride in its efforts to offer opportunities for social, emotional, educational, and professional growth for its members. In 2009, to celebrate the 40th anniversary as well as the creativity within the group at the same time as the convention held in Chiba City that year, five members had a show at Space Galleria. This show is also being held concurrently with the AFWJ annual convention, being held in Yokohama in 2023.
The AFWJ artists live throughout Japan. Some of the participating artists connected in the AFWJ Artist Way group; some connected in the weekly online sketch group, AFWJ Sketch Sprints; others wanted to express their creativity in this show. Some have had education or training in art in other countries; some took courses in Japan. Each has a unique voice.
With autumn leaves beginning to delight us with their annual brocade of red, yellow, and brown, we hope that viewers also enjoy the colours in this show.
友情の色
日本人妻会（AFWJ）は、半世紀以上にわたり、日本人と結婚や交際している、または交際していたことのある外国人に、友情とサポートを提供してきました。当協会は、会員に社会的、感情的、教育的、職業的成長の機会をすることに誇りを持っています。2009年には、40周年を記念し、その年に千葉市で開催された大会と同時に、グループ内の創造性を祝うために、5人の会員がスペース・ガレリアで展示会を行いました。今回の展示会は、2023年に横浜で開催されるAFWJ年次大会とも同時開催される。
AFWJのアーティストは日本全国に住んでいる。参加アーティストの中には、AFWJ Artist Wayグループでつながった人、毎週開催されるAFWJ Sketch Sprintsというオンライン・クロッキー会でつながった人、このショーで自分の創造性を表現したいと思った人などが集まってる。海外でアートの教育や訓練を受けた人もいれば、日本で講習を受けた人もいる。それぞれがユニークな声を持っている。
紅葉が始まり、赤、黄色、茶色の錦織を楽しませてくれるこの季節に、この展覧会の色彩も楽しんでいただければ幸いです。
In her exhibition at Launch Pad Gallery, Charli Aldrighi is honored to present her series “A Dream of Life and Death”. The medium chosen for this series is black fineliner on paper. The collection explores the thin layer between existence and the void before and after. Emotions inhabit this space, deep within our inner self. Sometimes they scream to be let out, yet we push them down. After a sudden, close encounter with Death, and a long time spent trying to hide from the pain, the artist decides to stop avoiding it, and instead starting to face it.

Artist Statement
My work explores the relationship between various spaces and the people that occupy and use them.
My work uses the absence of human beings to focus on an image that tells a story about ordinary life. It explores the connection that we develop with our homes and places that we are familiar and comfortable with. I want to explore the feelings we have towards our homes. The places we inhabit and create shape us as much as we shape them.
In my work I create these places from scratch and the work creates its own story.

以前良く山に登っていた。どの山だったか忘れてしまったけど、紅葉した木々が山の中腹にあった。音が無く静かなのに色とりどりの紅葉した木々が目の前に広がり、浄土を見ているようだった。展覧会タイトル「しずかなところ」はその時のイメージから取っている。
ランチパッドギャラリーの窓が好きだ。展示空間から目の前にある交差点が見える。人が行き交う。車の音がする。色んなものが動いている。その窓から光が展示空間に差している。光が差す展示空間に静かな絵画が並んでいる。
